“Complete reliability was the engine’s most important requirement and my number one
priority when preparing to go around the world in my RV-6. After all I was going
to fly a total of 18,037 miles over the oceans with the longest non-stop leg of 2,385
miles. A friend of mine recommended Robert Ronaldson as the best person to build
such an engine. I am glad I did, the engine run faultless despite all the extremes
encountered over the 27,065 miles of this adventure. I established the British speed
record for the circumnavigation in the weight class, established 6 intermediate distance
world speed records, was the only British registered homebuilt ever to go around
the world and the fastest circumnavigation by any type of RV. And the overall average
speed in the air was 164mph. Further details available from www.chasingthemorningsun.com
