Ronaldson Airmotive currently provide total engine support to some of Europe’s leading
flight training schools and commercial operators and we would welcome the opportunity
to support your engine and accessory needs.
Day two saw a 4.6hr flight over the 10,000 ft Greenland Icecap into Narsarsuak for
a fuel stop, then on to Goose Bay Canada, another 670nm. After an overnight stop
here, I flew on to Bangor Maine to clear customs into the US. The trip to Oshkosh
was finally completed after some 25hrs in the air over 3 days.
I have to say that at no time did my engine miss a beat, nor did it go into the “Automatic
rough” that I have come to expect from most engines as soon as they get over water.
I chose Robert Ronaldson to be the builder of my Lycoming IO-320 as I believe his
knowledge of the product to encyclopaedia and his standards to be the highest. During
the flight over the North Atlantic, one thing that I did not worry about was the
integrity of the engine. When your life depends on it, choose Ronaldson to rebuild
your engine. You get what you pay for, and the best life insurance policy you can
get is to have a first class engine. It’s what keeps you up there”
“I finished building my LongEz in 1984, and flew it around the
Uk and France for many years. With the turn of the century approaching,
I decided that my Millennium Project would be to pursue my dream of flying
my own aircraft over the Atlantic to Oshkosh for July 2000.So in the winter
of 1999, I stripped it apart to prepare it for the trip, with the goal
of accepting nothing less than the best in every aspect of the aircrafts
airframe, engine and avionics.
With the high standards that come with flying over such desolate landscapes
for long distances with no alternates, each stage took longer than anticipated.
So it was that in the summer of 2005, I finally departed Gloucester for Oshkosh.
My route took me to Wick in Scotland, then to Rekayavic, Iceland for an
overnight stop.
